> For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The above-mentioned verse is being called as ” the Heart of the Bible.”
It is called the Heart of the Bible because it expresses the unconditional, immeasurable love of God to a lost sinner like me.
Why God’s love is the greatest love of all?
1. It comes from God Himself.
> For God so loved the world…
Most people will look onto whom a gift came from. And if something is received as a gift from a prominent person, it will be cherished and the receiver has a sense of honor. Imagine! an elite personality gave you some precious thing! It’s something you are proud of.
God, the Creator of the universe. The Almighty God offers His love to you. What a wondrous love it is!
2. It embraces all kinds of people.
> For God so loved the world (mankind)
Most of us can only love those who are lovable. We tend to love those who love us but abhor those who hate us.
But God’s love is universal, He loves everyone.
3. It cost the very life of His only Son.
> that he gave his only begotten Son
The value of a gift is determined how much the worth of it. What love is greater than to sacrifice your own life for others?
God could have someone crucified on the Cross but Christ Jesus died for you and me for there’s no other way He could redeem us from the bondage of sin.
4. It gives everyone the chance to accept His gift of eternal life.
> that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.
When a person loves, he can choose who can accept his offer of love.
God’s love gives every one of us the chance to accept his gift of eternal life. He loves and offers forgiveness to everyone. But as a sinner like me, you can reject or accept that gift of eternal life. It’s your decision.
