Sticker Shock

On January 1, Seattle’s soda tax went into effect. At Costco, a 35 case of Gatorade which costs $15.99 now has a tax of $10.34. Costco posted signs which provided the consumer with alternatives directing buyers to sister stores that didn’t impose the tax because they were outside of the city.

The first report of sticker shock in the new year. But the public is immune to sticker shock thanks to their health care policy.
