Brand new Music! ‘Breathe’ By Darren Claxton

Here’s the studio version of my new track ‘BREATHE’

I’d like to share my brand new song that I wrote this evening! It’s called BREATHE which is a simplistic little song. What inspired me to write this? well, I was thinking (I do a lot of that) about all the stupid mistakes that I’ve made in life, and wouldn’t want my children to follow in my footsteps. I gave them breath in their bodies, but I don’t need it back. they walk the footsteps that I make, just don’t follow me, take a ride upon a wing, just don’t look down on me. I never thought of myself as a poet, but reading back those words really stirred some emotive thoughts in me.
I hope you enjoy this little song, many thanks for your support.

Wish Away – Cover a Steemian @paintingangels aka Serena Mathew’s

As you all know, I’m not one to do covers and usually concentrate on writing my own music. This song by Serena Mathews @paintingangels just took me away to somewhere that I’ve not been for a long time, that place, as a musician which is quite foreign, is total admiration for another fellow creative soul. Now, there are many many great musicians here on Steemit that I love to listen to, but there’s just something magical about Serena’s songwriting that I’m addicted to. I really hope you like what I’ve done with your song ‘Wish Away’ Serena, and will no doubt be speaking to you very soon.

Lyrics

I don’t sleep well anymore now that you are gone
I place to pillows in a row imagining you’re home
Your aftershave still lingers low
like Heaven lost in my bed

I don’t drink and I don’t smoke and I don’t like to cry.
I guess that I’ll just wish away this pain.
This wicked dream is killing me,
I wish that you still loved me.

Here I lay before I sleep
whispering prayers into my sheets
If I should fly from here tomorrow
please don’t linger in my sorrows..

Darren Claxton is a Songwriter, Musician and Producer of his own music, from Derbyshire UK. The music he writes is often heartfelt acoustic indie folk with a sprinkling of rock and country influences, with an occasional world music flavour as heard on his track ‘Dragonfly’ . But most of all, it’s his passive emotive thoughts and feelings that are delivered through that soothing vocal, and intricate guitar playing of his.

Necesito La Playa – Instrumental guitar music –

Nesecito La Playa – ‘I need the beach’ is my musical offering for the Steemit Music League Challenge S2:R8 Latin Music. I’m loving the challenges here which really gets my many musical juices flowing, because I don’t just write vocal songs you know? I have other sides to my creativity.

I wrote this track a while back with images of Latin America and the beaches of Mexico and Brazil.
I’m a huge fan of Santana’s early music like the classic album ‘Abraxas’ which kind of inspired this instrumental of mine.
When I’m not singing, I like to use the lead guitar to convey my feelings.

I hope you enjoy this Latin sounding tune for this week’s contest.

Thanks to @chiefmappster and @prc for continously supporting us musicians here. Without kind people like yourselves, our community just wouldn’t be the same.

Cheers
Darren

Slowed By Notes -Exclusive Live Performance Video –

‘Slowed By Notes’ is the second track from my EP ‘Never Grow Old’

All of my songs are recorded at home on my trusty old Zoom MRS 1608 – 12 track Porta Studio, which just demonstrates what you can achieve with limited recording equipment. I also write all of the music, lyrics and play all instruments that you hear.

Here’s the YouTube link – https://youtu.be/hXGVrMngbbg

Lyrics:

Did I ever buy you flowers
oh I’ve been sitting here oh so long
remember those nights when we walked for hours
waiting for the summer breeze to come along

Well anyway girl I had you first
and I won’t have you again
well some old lucky guy come and found you there
and my heart’s been left in denial

I’m slowed by notes now just listen, listen
I’ve covered the night with scars
stayed in my room now and just listened listened
stared at the sky caving in
I just stared at the sky caving in

All I remember girl were the things you said
and those last words that you sighed
well you left me here and I’m such a mess
Well I closed the door and I wiped my eyes

I’m slowed by notes now just listen, listen
I’ve covered the night with scars
stayed in my room now and just listened listened
stared at the sky caving in
I just stared at the sky caving in

I just stared at the sky caving in in
Did I ever buy you flowers
Oh I’ve been sitting here oh so long.

Thanks to my @helpie team for their continued support!
And also, a huge thanks to @prc and the @dsound team for their continuous support for me and my music.
It is all very much appreciated!
Cheers

Steemit Open Mic entry for Week 79

Here’s a brand new song I wrote for Steemit’s Open Mic contest this week!

I’ve decided to take things up a notch this week.
The music and songs we write deserve the very best sound quality possible so for that reason alone, I’ve used my trusty old Zoom 1608 Porta-Studio to capture my guitar and vocal. I use this recorder that I bought back in 2005, for everything I create musically! My new EP was produced with this old machine too, so I put my trust in it.

My Open Mic entry for week 79 is this brand new song that I wrote just this afternoon.
It’s just me, the camera, my gorgeous Crafter TAO50 guitar and voice, oh and an old scrap of paper with some lyrics, that I managed to drag from the depths of my very soul!!

Reflected In Your Eyes

This weekend has also seen the release of my new EP ‘Never Grow Old’

Exciting Times!! My Brand New 5 Track EP is out now! ‘Never Grow Old’ on Bandcamp and Available Here with SBD or STEEM

I hope you like my new song, and as ever, a huge thanks to the @openmicteam and @luzcypher @pfunk for their continuous support for us independent musicians here on @steemit

Cheers

The best camera you can ever own is the one in your pocket!

Your smartphones camera can do amazing things if you get to know it a little better.
I am lucky enough to have the Huawei P10 which has dual Leica lenses that can take just about any style of photo you’ll ever need.
I’m toying with the idea of a DSLR camera but –

1) They’re stupidly expensive!
2) I’m a poor musician and would much prefer to spend my hard earned cash on musical instruments that rarely lose value!
3) I’m uber clumsy and would probably break it anyway!
4) My Huawei takes amazing shots in the right hands.

Here’s some specs on my phones amazing camera –

Dual: 12 MP (f/2.2, PDAF, OIS) + 20 MP, Leica optics,
2x lossless zoom, phase detection and laser autofocus,
dual-LED dual-tone flash, check quality
Features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama
Video 2160p @30fps, 1080p @60fps, check quality
Secondary 8 MP, f/1.9 front facing camera.

If you’re interested in this amazing bit of kit you can find out about it here –

Original Music – Somehow true – by Darren Claxton

Here’s a track I’ve been working on recently. It has lots of different elements, the guitars, hand claps, percussion and that subtle banjo that appears in the chorus.

Lyrics:

Did I once see your eyes
fell apart then realised
plans we made then changed again
just the same, rejuvenate

Won’t you take me home
keep me safe and warm
safe and warm

Stories old and stories new
the lies but somehow true

Count the cost of a lovers loss
sunny skies, I love your eyes
lost but found I hit the ground
all is still, I had my fill

Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh

Won’t you take me home
keep me safe and warm
safe and warm

Stories old and stories new
the lies but somehow true

Won’t you take me home
keep me safe and warm
safe and warm

Did I once see your eyes
fell apart then realised
plans we made then changed again
just the same, rejuvenate rejuvenate

Thanks for listening and supporting me and my music!
Cheers

How’s Your Steemit Journey So Far? – Are You Glad You Signed Up?

Hello my fellow #plankton, #newbies and #minnows and other larger ocean dwellers!

steemit (2).jpg

This is now my 3rd month on #steemit and I must say it’s been an interesting and very insightful platform of discovery, full of mainly, great quality content and frankly, lovely, creative and helpful people.

So here’s a massive thanks to all the ones that have supported me and my music, tolerated my hyperactive ramblings and quirky ways!

[source](https://pixabay.com/en/thanks-word-letters-scrabble-1804597/)

(Let’s get the negatives out the way first)
Apologies for repeating what has already been said a thousand times regarding this subject but, I’d like to have a little rant to get it off my chest.

[source](https://pixabay.com/en/yada-yada-board-insignificance-1430679/)

There are however, the #plagiarist types among us that think, a simple #copyandpaste with a crappy photo is still an acceptable way of making some #money on #steemit, but thanks to @cheetah bot and the respected users among us, they will be continuously unearthed I’m sure, as well as being flagged by us all that are completely against this ‘anti-creative’ and frankly, irritating shennaigans.

[source](https://pixabay.com/en/burglar-crime-criminal-theft-thief-157142/)

It’s such a simple task to credit the great resources that #google have to offer, by simply adding [Source] Followed by the url to your post inside brackets ()

Thanks to @LLFarms for helping me with this!

Now, I may be wrong with my understanding of this but, think I’m kind of right? so please bare with me.
There are of course,  the other account holders, which seem to have invested huge sums of money in Steem (I wish) that then post 1 picture with a 4 lined paragraph about ‘How nice the view is out of the window’ and somehow, get loads of up-votes and a healthy SBD payday to boot!

The last few weeks have been tough for me.  I was really flagging with all the late nights spent on here and #discord, trying to battle with my own Mental health issues and ridiculous paranoia, working full time in my tutor job with special needs children, and trying to get them through their mock exams, being a father, networking, researching and creating music content for my blog, in the hope that someone with a big influence here could give me a much needed boost and take me under their whale fin.

[Source](https://steemit.com/music/@prc/introducing-dsound-a-decentralized-sound-platform-using-steem-and-ipfs)

I’m pleased to say, it did happen, and why did it? for ease, to help me out? why should they? they must of started out as a tiny plankton in this huge ocean that is Steemit when it all started in 2016. Is it that I write decent songs? Or is it because, I take the time to comment on my posts comments left by others?  dip in and out of discord chats? speak to like minded people here?  because after all, it is a social portal and social means to COMMUNICATE with others and COMMUNITY. The sharing of ideas and involving yourself to create some worth is of such importance on Steemit.

[source](http://cryptomining-blog.com/tag/steemit-review/)

Then, on Sunday 11th March I was directed to a web page that I thought was Steemit. In fact, it was a mirror image of Steemit called Steewit

Please do not use your master password to login anywhere because, IT’S A BLOODY NIGHTMARE TRYING TO GET YOUR ACCOUNT BACK.

I wrote a blog all about this on my @darrenclaxton page the day my new account was set up my my good friend @meno

Thanks to my #helpie family here on Steemit for getting me back to where I was with my old @mrbloom account.

I’ve gone from 25 rep to 56 rep in just 14 days which is no mean feat! It’s such a positive reminder for me,  and other new users,  how posting genuine time spent content is of such importance. My music has obviously created some connections and emotive feelings in others,  for them to be so generous and helpful in supporting my journey here.

https://steemit.com/dsound/@darrenclaxton/20180323t223421754z-never-grow-old-track-5-from-the-never-grow-old-epp

Isn’t life weird? I mean, let’s compare and contrast here for a moment? Your bank account is hacked, they have your login details, they change them so you are unable to access your hard earned cash. This happens whilst you’re asleep so have  only idea how much has been transferred to some random account on the other side of the planet. So the question remains, would a total stranger set up a new bank account for you and deposit 50 quid (slang for GBP pounds) in there? just to ‘Get you back on your feet’

[source](https://www.horizoncommunitybank.com/protect-your-bank-account-from-being-hacked/)

Would they continue to support you emotionally and keep you feeling positive etc? The answer is a big fat NO! And that is why, my friends, I absolutely love this place! I’d like to think there are other brilliant people out there like our #helpienaut family ? that would support their fellow #steemians if this awful hacking business ever happened to one of their fellow users.

Then I see this tree the other day whilst out walking with my family. It had forced it’s way through the slats of that bench, and I thought to myself, ‘the struggle is real, life is tough, you must remain resilient in an ever changing world which is full of twists, turns and struggles…this tree endeavoured to grow, to push through no matter what and just kept trying to succeed and survive! and that is now how I think of Steemit,  a challenge, some crazy social experiment, a game and frankly, something to look forward to each day.

IMAG1145.jpg

Thanks for reading my post!
I wanted to just say that, you’re not alone on your steemit journey and that I have total empathy for you if you’re only getting minimal comments, votes and payouts. Those few cents or bucks for our hard earned efforts will pay off in the end…I’m hopeful, and so should you be.

Use the bots on www.steembottracker.com if you want to increase your post visibility, some frown upon this but I really don’t see a problem if used appropriately for good content.

Points to remember:

  • Take your time to post good quality content
  • Credit others when using Google resources
  • Be kind, considerate and helpful
  • Remember why you signed up
  • Stay motivated and focussed
  • Avoid plagarism at every opportunity
  • Sign up to Discord
  • And most importantly of all, HAVE FUN and make friends,  not enemies.

Thanks again and please feel free to leave me a comment, vote or re-steem if you enjoyed this post.

Crazy Little Town – Original Music

This song is about the Town I grew up in in Cambridgeshire UK.
Everyone knew each other and we all kinda got dragged I to each others business and family quarrels.
I have fond memories of live here and wanted to write a poem about it.
So here’s the only way I know how, in song.

Lyrics –

I missed the bus and I missed the train
and everything is still the same
if you take a look inside there is nowhere else to hide

in this crazy little town
everybody is getting down
to the things they gotta to do
they’re involving me and you

Everything remains the same
I think it’s time to make a change
the way we love and work and play
it’s got to change and change today

in this crazy little town
everybody’s getting down
to the things they’ve got to do
they’re involving me and you

the ones you leave behind
one day will find
you there upon the wall
with your head Held High and standing tall well then know you’ll never fall
cos you gotten out alive
and found some paradise
some Paradise

I miss the Boat and missed the plane and everything remains the same
if you take a look inside
there is nowhere else to hide

I hope you’re enjoying my new account and music uploads?
Cheers

Time – An original Song by Darren Claxton

Here’s my song ‘Time’

The light shines on your photo
Reflecting in your eyes
And I’m losing all my feelings
You know as time goes by

And I’m falling from my cradle
Straight into my grave
Oh I wanted you to be there
And call my name

To the world you are one person
To one person you are the world
And it really makes no difference
Now you’re not mine
Now you’re not mine

Why are things decided
In the blinking of an eye
It’s not the way we plan them
We just push things aside.

And I’m falling from my cradle
Straight into my grave
Oh I wanted you to be there
And call my name

To the world you are one person
To one person you are the world
And it really makes no difference
Now you’re not mine
Now you’re not mine

Thanks for listening!

Darren

Lights – Original Music – by Darren Claxton aka @mrbloom

Photo taken at Calke Abbey – Derbyshire – Aug 2017′

Lights’ is track 4 from the ‘Never grow Old’ EP

The story behind this song…
I was feeling pretty low a few years ago and wrote so many songs as a way of escaping from myself. I never thought of myself as a very good lyricist, but after reading back what I had written in 10 minutes (along with the music) I took a step back and realised, these were from the very depths of my heart and soul. Hurt and heartache drove these feelings and story behind the song. I still revisit this particular track of mine and try to somehow analyse the meaning behind it! Do I need to? Maybe and maybe not. It’s also filled with a sense of hope, endeavour and resilience relating to past relationships and events.
I hope you find some comfort or inspiration from ‘Lights’ and to go and pen your own song, poem or story.
Music heals the soul and I can’t tell you how I feel, but I can find a song that can….

Thanks.
Darren.

Say something to me
Just say it like you mean it
It meant so much you see
I’m constantly achieving

Comments abound
Won’t stop believing
The voice and sounds
Are truths in hearing

The time we spent and I’d relent
Gathered back all is lost
Covered feelings
When I see those lights
In your eyes
Those lights
In your eyes

In your eyes.

Thanks for your ongoing support for me and my music! It really does mean the world.

Early Morning Light – Original Music by Darren Claxton @mrbloom

Early Morning Light was written as I came out of the depression that had plagued me for so long.
I opened the curtains one morning and thought to myself, how lucky I really was to have such an amazing support network of people around me, the place we live in and for actually waking up breathing!
If you wake up in the morning, it’s a bonus, you’re lucky to be alive because, someone, somewhere in the world is taking their last breath, so go and breath that air, get that help you need to feel great again, deal with those demons that are driving you crazy!
Like @prc says ‘Music is What Feelings Sound Like’ and these are mine.
Thanks for listening, your comments and kind votes.
They are all very motivational for me and just push me to produce more music for us all to enjoy.

Lyrics:

A long time now to know
Wasted all my highs and lows
Pulled apart my head and it shows
Save me now, or go

Poles apart, unkind
Far beyond, my mind
Studied hard to find
Close the door you crossed the line
Where are you now? far behind

Early Morning lights, divine, I know
Safely locked inside, for now, it shows
Think of sometime, when you felt, alone
What you’re feeling now
Is just slow Mo, slow mo

I survived and the battle ends
Soul is safe, caressed
Full of heart, depends
Change your life start again
Win the fight, the battle ends

Early Morning lights, divine, I know
Safely locked inside, for now, it shows
Think of sometime, when you felt, alone
What you’re feeling now
Is just slow Mo, slow mo

Slow motion
Slow motion

The end…

Researchers Reveal Danger List When Artificial Intelligence (AI) Is Abused

Artificial intelligence (AI) is becoming the hottest topic in the technology world.

The giants in the technology world is still not one vote on the development of AI. One of them is Elon Musk who thinks AI can endanger mankind.

Discussion about the ethics of AI began to be intensified so that the robots made by humans do not even become disadvantageous.

A report entitled The Malicious Use of Artificial Intelligence: Forecasting, Prevention, and Mitigation lists potential dangers of AI in the areas of digital, physical, and political security.

The report was compiled by a mix of experts from various institutions, such as OpenAI who developed a good AI, as well as experts from world-renowned universities, among them the Universities of Oxford, Yale, and Cambridge, and Louisville.

Written, AI can expand on existing threats, introduce new threats, and change the typical character of a threat, for example an attack will be more effective and more difficult to avoid.

Here is a list of potential AI hazards that were launched from the report on Sunday (25/2/2018).

AI Threats in Digital Security

  1. Automatic social engineering attacks: Cyber criminals can easily create malicious sites, emails, or links using stolen identities, even a victim-writing style can be imitated.

The abused AI is potentially used as a chatbot pretending to be a human being in order to have a dialogue with the
victim.

  1. Search for automatic weakness: The weakness of a code will be more quickly searched with the help of AI.

  2. More sophisticated and automated hacking: By exploiting AI, cyber criminals will be more efficient and difficult to trace when committing a criminal act such as stealing information of potential victims to be abused.

AI Threats in Physical Security

  1. Terrorism Using AI: Systems that rely on AI for commercial purposes can be exploited by terrorists for the benefit of evil. Terrorists can launch attacks from afar, and let the AI robot act.

Take for example the use of drones or cars that can drive themselves used to perform attacks.

  1. Terrorists Do not Need to Hassle Giving Training: With the power of AI, an individual who is not expert on high-level actions can be supported using AI capabilities.
  2. Increased Attack Scale: By using AI, one person can launch a large scale attack, for example through drones.

  3. Surveys are more creepy: Network surveillance systems that rely on robotic systems can control large audiences and monitor large areas, but the side effects are that terrorists can misuse to execute attacks quickly and co-ordinated.

AI Threats in Political Security

  1. AI may be misused by the authorities: The power of AI in the field of information and communication can be misused by the authorities to gather information on a large scale that is vulnerable, it is alleged to be able to corner people who criticize the authorities.
  2. False news is more convincing: Fake news or hoaxes can be made better with the help of AI. The creation of videos containing malicious acts committed by others may also be forged even if the person has never committed a malicious action.

  3. Manipulation of information: By manipulating the algorithm, people can be led to certain information or driven away from certain information.
